Teaching and Training Opportunities at DMC
Medical Student Teaching
We teach medical students from Edinburgh University and enjoy doing so. There are a number of GPs at DMC who have extensive teaching experience, and medical students are a welcome addition to our learning culture.
If you want to know more about the opportunities for medical student teaching at Dunbar, please contact learn@dunbargp.scot. Dr David Hogg (Lauderdale Practice) and Dr Emma Davidson (Whitesands Practice) lead on medical student teaching in Dunbar.
GP Training
Lauderdale Medical Practice is a training practice within the GP training scheme, and has been training GPs since 2019.
Dunbar is a great place in which to undertake GP training. Dunbar Medical Centre is a busy hub from which a range of healthcare services are provided, and Lauderdale Practice strives to provide good quality, holistic care which serves as an excellent base for GP training. The team is committed to providing a good training environment.
We encourage any trainees who are interested in doing their GP training in East Lothian to get in touch as soon as possible in order to find out more or to arrange a visit. Dr Catharine George is our GP Trainer and oversees training in the practice. You can contact Dr George via the Lauderdale reception team, or email learn@dunbargp.scot .
